Wider ImpactArk-Hand Foundation is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to uplifting underprivileged children through education, nutrition, and community development.
Since 2020, Ark-Hand Foundation has been working tirelessly to ensure that every child, regardless of their economic background, has access to quality education and essential learning materials.
Through strategic partnerships with donors, corporate sponsors, and community leaders, we deliver vital school supplies, nutritious meals, and educational support to classrooms where they are needed most.
AK-HAND Charity Foundation was established in 2020 in Uganda with the vision of restoring hope, dignity and opportunity to vulnerable communities. The foundation was originally started as Akram Charity Foundation before being officially renamed AK-HAND Charity Foundation during registration. Since then, our mission has remained the same: to stand with those facing hardship and create sustainable opportunities through education, community support and humanitarian action.
In 2024, AK-HAND Charity Foundation launched the SureSteps Daycare & Kindergarten School project to expand access to quality early childhood education. By 2025 the school became fully operational and continues to serve children today. Although classrooms have been established, we are still working to provide more books, educational materials, learning toys, playground equipment and, in the future, a larger learning space to accommodate more children.
The foundation has also supported families affected by HIV/AIDS in Mbarara, Uganda. While our resources were limited, we provided essential household items including basins and mosquito nets. These contributions met immediate needs, but our long-term goal is to deliver broader support such as nutrition assistance, healthcare partnerships, education support and livelihood opportunities.
During Eid celebrations we surprised vulnerable children with financial gifts. Their joy reminded us why this work matters. Our vision is to grow these celebrations into complete community events where children and families receive meals, drinks, clothing, educational materials and memorable experiences during Eid, Christmas and other important occasions.
